People Skills Development -The Sweet & Sour of 2017

As one year comes to a close I always like to reflect on how it has played out.

This year has had its highs and lows except I have channelled all my energies into the development of People Skills in my business.

From a personal point of view my mum passed at the ripe old age of 94 years but I continue to follow her teachings and absorb her wisdom,

First of all I wish to give a shout out to all those who have toiled away trying to send messages that we are not addressing the issue of people skills in our society. These include school teachers, university lecturers, business leaders and others in our community. So many people work tirelessly to try and stem the tide being created by the introduction of technology causing an imbalance in how we work and live.

This is and will be a long road but it is worth in devoting your precious time so crucial to our future, your sterling efforts are to be commended.

Following my decision in devoting all my remaining efforts in my business to this cause, I have seen both sides of the coin.

From the efforts mentioned above to the apathy of our institutions and some educationalists who really pay lip service to the depth of the problem which has emerged and shows no immediate signs of abating.

I have not enough fingers and toes to count the number of conversations I have witnessed during the year where the car nodding dog syndrome has taken place.

Unfortunately it is something that has taken root in our modern society, words are extremely cheap and worthless without genuine intent and action.

So stealing a line from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet “To be, or not to be – that is the question whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing them.”

It must sound a bit profound for some (especially at this time of year lol) but the truth is unless we are bold enough to keep raising the issue no change of direction will occur.

Our reality is we need to dust ourselves off and take up the fight for the coming year.

Have a safe and happy festive season and an exceptional 2018
